seen them in a machinery magazine at work , they are fitted to the trailer/caravan etc. and the control just plugs into your cig lighter so it can be used with any tow vehicle thus cutting out the expense of having one fitted to every vehicle you have or buy. and they meet Australia standards. not sure how much they are but will be looking into them.. another good idea. Hi Keep

Sounds messy.

Where would I plug my GPS, Cell phone, Laptop, ipod, kids toys etc... if the Brake controller plug is wiggling in there.

Regards

Derek.

Pete,
Sounds downright dangerous!
Legality- would you want your safety and that of others around you depending on a cigarette lighter plug?

I've always argued the variety with the controller on the trailer which just work off brake lights (and therefore no independent or proportional means of control) should be illegal. Give me override brakes any day- (now, there's a step back compared to a proper electric brake controller) At least with override brakes, their output is proportional to how hard you stomp on the stop pedal!
