Got myself organised on Saturday night - set the clock forward, packed away the curtains ('cos they DO fade in the sunlight), etc etc.
Then got up an hour before I went to bed and carted the washing machine to my daughter's place. Now I know why she didn't want to get a towball fitted to HER car!
Anyway, half way there I noticed a rear-end noise when I took my foot off the accelerator. By the time I got to Mt Lawley (maybe 20k after the first noise) it was LOUD.
Oil everywhere. Crawled home (just). The diff flange came off when I took the rear driveshaft. Damn nut had just spun off, and the front bearing was not a pretty sight.
For the first time in my entire life I was able to do everything without any trips to the shops for the bits I needed. I had the bearing, gaskets, oil. Everything. Just wish I could remember when I got them all. Anyway, pulled the axles, diff, replaced the bearing, (no other damage, thankfully) and stuffed it all back together.

And it works!!!!!

After I'd finished (5 hours) all the missus could say was - you haven't cleaned the pool like you said you would.

Ho hum......

Hi Red60,

You see that women would regard your diff effort as totally optional and an impost on home duties. However you may not feel the same way about shopping which is needed and compulsory. I am suprised you didn't upset her with dirty clothing and hands as well, she must be very understanding.

Mate, I also fixed the family shopping trolly (not as serious as your though - just the aircon belt) and got in trouble for dirtying my clothes.

Kind regards

Not a problem because you now have an extra hour to do that pool you lazy
b a s t u r d. Now git out there and do it.

If it wasn't for us 'over East', you 'over there' dudes wouldn't have that 'extra hour' to do the pool, lawns, outside painting, washing the cars, Choping the wood, fixing up the kids chit etc etc.

So instead of bitching, just enjoy the crumbs of life thrown to you 'over West galahs' by us benevolent, enlightened, revolutionary, forward thinking Easterners.

Oh! what a feeling..........

Red 60,
It's ok to leave the curtains up till midday each day, coz as I said in an earlier post, it's the afternoon sun which fades the curtains.
Just put em up at night again, no probs then.
But the daylight saving is already playing havoc with my afternoon Nanna Nap. Will take some time to adjust to this one.

Good idea!!
While I'm at it I may as well reset the calendar back a decade so the marriage would never have happened too :-)
