Hello People ,
Can anyone recommend the best 'aftermarket' dust seals for a standard camper trailer for the rear swing door ? My new camper trailer has no dust seals to the rear swing door so any advice would be appreciated .
Thank's ,
Kev .

Use the rubber door seals that you can get from Clark Rubber, I have found that they work quite
well. Use silicone spray on them to stop them sticking on very hot days also.
Cheers Kev

Yep, get the best quality stuff you can get from Clarks or an automotive supplier.
Make sure you get it think enough to accomodate
the gap around the door.
What I'm saying is rip off the old rubber and measure
the gap with the door closed then get something that will compress at least 40% when the door is closed at the point of the largest gap

I just got our CT, and it has pretty basic seals.
They are going to leak in dust, especially bull dust.
From travelling on roads out west I have come to accept some leakage, so don't worry about it any more. I just make sure I have the important stuff inside good sealing boxes in the car or CT.
I will hose out the CT when I get home and add to the gravel, stones and dust I already have deposited on the lawn from washing the car after each trip.
Actually, I found an interesting stone chip the other day, bit of chipped opal, must have been from
White Cliffs or
Lightning Ridge from a trip or 3 ago.

When we originally had our CT built I had a wheel stud welded to the frame and a hole drilled through the swing out tailgate. When you close the tailgate, tighten the wheel nut so it compresses the seal to the max. No dust ... ever... got in through the tailgate.

Hi, Graham ...................
Brilliant idea and so simple ....... will be incorporating it into my trailer system.
Not a CT as such, just a trailer modified to carry my $150,000 worth of
camping gear accumulated over the past xxx years!!!
Like some-ne else daid here ....... great place for learning, ay !!
