How many litres of gas in a 9 kg bottle at normal temperature?

LPG (in this context - a camping bottle) is sold by weight of liquid and and not volume. LPG has a given density and is 99% pure so it's easy to sell by weight.

But if you want to calculate the litres (volume) then take the diameter of the STRAIGHT part bottle, half it to get the radius (r), measure the height (h) of the STRAIGHT part of the bottle and use the formula:- Pi * r squared * h.

Pi is 3.133333 recurring. "r" is the radius. "h' is the height.

Add about 5 % for the dome ends on the bottle and that should be pretty close.
