Gday, Has anybody used or have any experience with Redarc SBI 12v 100amp dual battery isolators? They look like a good unit but haven't heard much about them. Has anyone else heard about them?

My local auto 'leccy sells them but cheaper on ebay, $140 for the isolator, H/D wiring, fuse, terminals and anderson plug. Doesn't look too hard to fit myself.

Cheers

Yep, have installed three so far including one on my truck, very simple, it protects the starting battery with a voltage sensitive relay. It is ideal when running fridges etc from a second battery... Nav.

Hi Barnesy,

Another endorsement from me. Fitted one to my last Patrol and fitted the same to my latest - no issue on either vehicle.

Hi Barnesy

Yes a great product. They are one of our best sellers.

Note that there a 3 basic types.

Sbi-12 for almost every application.
Sbi-12LCV8 has lower kick in / out voltages.
Sbi-12D has twin controllers for monitoring of both batteries.

Regards

Derek.

They have an Office/Warehouse in Lonsdale.

Motor Traders, Battery World and most auto spare shops can get them.

I got mine from Motor Traders. I have seem them from $110 to $130 around town

Barnesy,

Redarc are sensational to deal with.

My isolator died after 2 and a bit years (out of warranty). I called Redarc, they said send it back to us. I sent it back by Express Post on Tuesday and had a new one in my letterbox on the Thursday of the same week.

Their support is second to none.

Buying any other isolator is a risk.

Jim.

The Redarc unit is very weather-proof compared to some (rotronics for example).
Got one on ebay for $85.
