G'day
just returned to Tas. after 4 months travelling through WA - one of the front shocks on the troopy has sprung a leak, so I'm up for a replacement pair - have had DOBINSON shocks recommended to me, but as I have never heard of them am checking to see if anyone using the
forum has had experience with them?
thanks
Terry

My son has Dobinson shocks (and springs) on his GQ. They were recommended by others who have used them and the 4WD
shop where he had the work done.
Very good so far, but he has only done about 1000KM with them so far and one day of off roading.

Probably one of the best spring makers in Australia, located in
Rockhampton Qld, very old business. My last set of shocks were replaced at 100Ks. My rear leaf springs are still as good as when they were made.
Cheers Bruce.

I agree with others, that they make great springs with great back up service if needed. BUT I would say the shockies left a little to be desired and only had them on for a few thousand k's. When explained to Dobinsons what they were being used for they themselves refunded the price of the shocks and told me to go buy Old Man Emu and I haven't look back since. I still run Dobinson coils and they are only just recently starting to show their age but they have done a very hard 280000km with a lot of heavy loads.
Hope it helps,
Trevor.
