contact Qld Roads people they will give u the facts on tire size... its been done to death here in the past so searching will work.
as for the rego in another state, go with it.

rego in another state can also stop you getting: train tickets,
parking fines and speeding fines.
It can however get you reamed when they find you've had the car in the state for more than 3 months, but they have to prove it first.....

Tyres....15mm increase in diameter and 21mm decrease in diameter.(from standard [stamped on your tyre placcard])
And as for the lift 2" and anything over has to be certified.(That's if you wish to stick to the rules)
Cheers Greg

is that all stingy bastards im allready past that no point in stopping now, as for the lift, a 2" body lift will do for the short time but is there much you can do to the IFS as far as a
suspension lift goes

Have a yarn to QLd Transport about the tyre size, they will set you straight.
If you live in the state for more than three months I think it is then that is where you are supposed to be registered. Again QLD transport will give you the exact details on that one.
If you go outside of the legal guidelines for what mods you can do on the car then you may find yourself having problems with insurance. Also the transport inspectors and the police here are pretty much onto modified vehicles at present.

I got pulled over by Qld transport on the weekend with 3" lift and 33"s on 80 series, the police first waved me through then the qld transport officer jumped out and flaged me down. he spent 5 mins under my cruiser while I was talking to the police officer who was a keen 4w driver. he ends up climbing out from under the truck and asks is this a factory V8 ?. your the expert you tell me HAHA. If its tidy looking and not to high you won`t have much trouble with cops etc.
but insurance ?

Here we go again, yet another 4x4 owner looking at breaking the law in order to get the 'ultimate' vehicle.
Love 'em or hate 'em the laws are in place for a reason. Responsible motorists don't have a problem with compliance. Seem to recall it's something to do with road safety, etc.
Hope you don't have your kids in the 'bomb' when owing to your 6" lift you loose control and have a crash. It certainly won't be an accident.
Hope your nowhere near me when it happens, and it probably will. I guess you'll expect a bed in the public hospital system at the espense of someone who's legitimally ill.
Reckon your'e sneaky by trying to register in another state, bet the cops are sneakier in finding out what you've done.
If you want a 'lift' that badly, try sticking a firecracker where the sun doesn't shine. Guaranteed to give you what you obviously want and shouldn't involve any innocent parties.

yet if the laws are good enough for one state why are they not good enough for an other but if there are real safty issues i want to hear them i dont want to drive around in something that is not safe especially if i have kids in the car but what is the difference between them is it real safty or is it red tape ?
