We are planning a trip around OZ starting next February and to set ourselves a goal we decided to visit all the mainland light houses.
I ordered a book called Lighthouses of Australia - A visitors guide which arrived today. Wow, it is fantastic, directions, pictures, history,. just great.

Good luck with your quest, wish I had the time to do the same. When you finally tick off the last "Mainland" one, you going to visit the offshore ones, Tassie? Hav a great, safe trip.

It's worthwhile getting the coffee table version as
well; "Images of the end of an era". We have both and they are both great books. The author is very enthusiastic about his subjects!

the one in
Kingston SE is a ripper and saved frrm the elements and open to tourists. For a few bucks there is plenty of history and the original furntiure is still in it. We walked in expecting a quick look and 1.5 hours later walked out. The local historic society now looks after it after it was saved from being pushed into the ocean.
