Unbeknown to these Trekkers that they were being watched,
Might have been Willem, just thought too these survey photo's must have been after Summer or they wouldn't have been there,

Yes you do mate, you need Google Earth and probably ADSL with minimum 256k download , and also need to be on a plan that gives up to 1GB TO 5GB downloads because it really gobbles the bytes. give me about 10 mins and I will put a photo of what we are talking about on the web for to see at this URL
Site Link
and if you have broadband connection get Google from here
Get Google Earth (Free Version)

Thanks for that Doug, I've got google earth but can't get anywhere near the quality shots you just posted, really makes you wonder who's up there watching doesn't it.
Have a safe one both you and Dusty

Depends on what area your looking at , notice all the browner strips if when your way out into space,
well thats the newer photo's and they focus much better, now if your on dial up it will take a long time to focus

Doug.
I think they are a little too far East for it to be Willem on his last trip to the Simpson Geo Cntr. Don't see any trailers either on any of the vehicles.
We turned North a little west of this location.
The latest snaps are getting very good resolution. I note not many campers in the
Birdsville caravan park, although that snap could be a different time frame to the one you refer to.
regards

What a pity Willem, like me you could hours flying to all the good
places , have you thought about looking into ADSL , if your in the right area and it is available the rates are not more than dial up , depends what plan you want and what downloads your going do, I find 5GB is more than I need for 34.95 .
have a look at these plans at the link. and the date of the photo's are 2006 ,check the link on my site but I have made the photo's at 66% only ....put your glasses on.

Another thing to willem is you can fly over your planned route if it's in the newer sections and find the ideal
camp spots upload the Co-Ords to the GPS ....
TOO EASY UH

We are waiting patiently for Broadband. You can get Satellite here but at a price I cannot afford.
I suppose looking at where you may want to
camp could be good for some but doesn't that take the adventure out of it??? And how do you know how long it is going to take to get there?
I think I will stick to the old style of doing things. Even thinking of getting a 45 series Toyota with no complicated electrics or additional crap one does not need....although the GQ is doing OK.
Just ideas
