Hi all

I am in the process of researching using my Palm Tungsten T3 with a Bluetooth GPS. I have come across the Garmin 10 Deluxe GPS 10 which seems to fit the requirements. It comes standard with the City Navigator Australia v7. I understand this will do point to point mapping, which would be nice. The Garmin website mentions that it has expanded coverage of outback roads – but how good is it away from the cities? Or will I also need Metroguide (and is this any better?). I primarily want coverage for WA.

If these are no good, does anyone know of good mapping software that will run on a Palm? Oziexplorer does not appear to. No real requirement for point to point mapping, but needs to have access to fairly detailed maps.

Thanks in advance

Tim

Tim, until recently I had Fugawi (as in where the ....... maybe lol). I found this to have similar characteristics to Oziexplorer in that it uses ECW maps and you can scan and calibrate your own maps for more detail. You can download a trial program to see how easy it is to use. I am now using oziexplorer having upgraded my PDA.
By the way do you have a car mount for your tungsten. I still have mine that I don't need, it has a window suction mount, 12 volt charger and speaker built in. It was for a Tungsten T, but I believe the ports are similar across the tungsten range...you may have to check up on this..if suitable you could get yourself a bargain. Cheers Eric.

CN 7 kills metroguide, in fact it includes all the MG roads and many others. LAst trip to the Vic HC there was only one road that wasnt on the Garmin
