Hi Derek
At home for lunch today and there is a small parcel. To my surprise, there is a range of products that Derek from ABR in Belmont Qld, is testing and true to his word, he has sent out sample to members that would like to try them out.

A very big thank you Derek and I will try them out.

Stephen

Whilst I didn't seek out any items to do a test on from Derek, I did order a new trailer brake controller from him a few days ago. It arrived within a day or so and all is good. Even the local shops can't seem to match the service you can achieve from a "good" internet site.

Thanks Derek.

Cheers

I too got a brake controller from Derek, very happy. Just curious Roachie what brakes did you end up getting for your trailer? You were looking at discs. The reason I ask is I am looking for electric drums but can't decide on axle, bearing ratings. Obviously 2 tonne would be better but any thoughts if 1500kg would do the job? $500 cheaper, 1750kg springs. Fully loaded around Oz trip.
Should i just spend the extra cash or am i wasting money, any thoughts?
Thanks
Barnesy

G'day Barnesy,

Sorry, I may have given the wrong impression previously.

My Ultimate Camper already has drum brakes (it was built in 1998), but I was previously expressing an interest in changing over to disks at some future time as the drums seem to require too much maintenance for my liking.

I reckon if I was setting up brakes from scratch I would be going with the disks. They may cost more initially, but don't seem to have a lot of the same issues the drums have with dust and mud etc.

Cheers

Roachie

Disc pads don't seem to last long in mud on a trailer.

Neithers mine?

Maybe we are in the outer of the testing group LOL.

Either way it a good way to get gear tested.

Cheers Kev
