Hi All,
anyone know how to set the clock on the computer so that it reads the right time when you switch it back on again the next day ? tried all the buttons to synchronise it but it just keeps going back to the original setting, probably because it's been set at 8 H's GMT and it cant cope with a change, we're in Perth,W.A.
thanks in advance,
Dave

Try setting it your BIOS when the PC starts up.

Usually hold down F6 or Delete upon start up then set the clock from in there.

And remember to vote no!!!!

Because WA is backward with respect to D/S, Windows PCs don't know that it has now moved out of the dark ages.

Microsoft may have released a patch for this, but you can set the clock in Control Panel, Date & Time, Time Zone, and turn OFF the auto adjust for D/S checkbox.
Also turn off the Internet time update in the next tab as well. Set the time to what you want and it won't change again. You can then manually change it back when D/S ends.

Not too onerous with only a couple of mouse clicks.

You have not really given enough info. Usually if you change a standalone pc's time it will stay put. If you are on a network or use one of the online time correction programs it will check with a server for the time and make the required adjustments. This is OK as long as the server has the correct time and the regional settings allow for daylight savings. (If adjust for daylight saving is not checked in date/time Time zone then check it and try again). I assume you have applied the patch from microsoft for daylight saving in WA see Site Link. If this fails try altering the BIOS time.

I don't think that you have a full explanation yet so I'll try.
If you double click on the time in the bottom right hand corner, the pop up wil have three tabs. Open the rh one and unclick internet time. Then click the cntre tab and change it to Tokyo time (GMT +9.00). then close the box and it should be perfect.
