about my waeco fridge that died in 2 days that was the 25th november
well i got my replacement today and im still not a happy customer, now i did say on the last post that i brought 2 fridges a cf35 and a cf80
now the cf80 works fantastic and i have had it plugged in since i got it. and has never missed a beat, even the other day it was 57 in my 4wd and it was still holding -5 and cans coool as
but the replacement i got today it seemed to take a while to reach set temperature
and one of the digital light is dimer than the other
and yes i have spoken to waeco again just for jimbo and its gota go back to get replaced but im not doing that till after christmas(not to replace the unit just the digital read out)
i must say what a lot of mucking around
im thinking about taking it to vcat and asking for money back and mabe try again
does anybody else have the cf35 and how does it run, or have they had problem
like i said before very happy with cf80 i only wanted the cf35 to use as a freeza

Johnny,
no offence intended, just took the opportunity to have a dig:-)
It's like anything these days, even the most exensive, most popular brands fail. Its a world of mass production with minimal quality control in order to acheive massive profit. Companies these days are not to concerned with the good old...."Customer Satisfaction", just make money.

And I guess that if you visited a Nissan centre, it would be full of Nissans getting repaired, and a Toyota
shop would be full of Toyotas getting repaired!

Hi..
There is a difference between "getting repaired" and "getting serviced".
However, as for Waeco:
I bought my 40l Waeco a couple of years ago and it came with their so called "Best Mate" warranty. That warranty promised a 1 day turnaround or a loan unit if it took longer. I contacted the local service agent when I had a problem (it was cutting out as they all did at the time because of the poly switch).
Anyway, he quoted 3 weeks to look at it and when I pointed out the terms of the "Best Mate Warranty", he nearly killed himself laughing, thought it was very funny. It was clearly a matter of the marketing boys getting way ahead of the coal face guys..... I ended up diagnosing and fixing the problem myself and it hasn't missed a beat since.
Cheers

I too have a brilliant WAECO - now to deal with the other bit. I am 60 yrs old and am being constantly repaired - never serviced!!!
That should end that once and for all....

I just took myn to high country for the week, sitting on the back
seat the whole time running from the 12 volt battery and held -14 with all our frozen stuff. It was hooked up to the main batt as I had a problem previous week to the trip and didnt have time to get it fixed and all was good car started the next day every time with out any probs. I'm rapted with it. Is it as good as an engel ? I dont know never owned one but if the engels work just as
well which I'd imagine they do then either of them is a good fridge. My'n is the 50L. Regards Steve M

Johnny,
I am pleased for you that my advice has been taken.
For your further benefit let me help you with this.
Note: I hold a reasonably senior management role in the retail industry. My expertise is around legalities and compliance.
The advice, based on legal fact.......A consumer who purchases a product that is faulty is entitled to a refund. If you have a faulty fridge, do not accept offers of replacement or repair unless YOU choose to; you are legally entitled to a full refund. It's the law and it is that simple.
ATB,
Jim.
