G'day slammin: just a weird picture image.( Incongrous springs to mind.)[slammin/ preschool etc].
We worked in Alice in early 70's. Went back for a sentimental run last year.
Won't name the communities visited, enough to say we were devasted.
Areyonga wasn't one of them, and your post re both sniffing and national literacy attainment was most reassuring: some of you are obviously hitting a few good notes. Is Dick Kimber still working in the area?
We remember a little Lass, 'Panda E.' saying to the teacher of French, (now my missus): " Miss, you're blacker'n Frederica."
They were good years. Alas, we deserted back to
Darwin. Feel free to touch base.

G'day
Yes Dick Kimber is still in Alice. I think he is mainly researching/writing history. Now there is a bloke who knows his indigenous stuff and is worth spending time yarning with.

Jeff I'm sure a few of us have a story or ten about schools. I can't tell any, I'd get the pants sued off me and anyway, nobody would believe me.
Even white communities have their moments :))
