I am sure that all would like to wish you a safe weekend.
And if you're fighting fires, please stay safe...and for those out battling for other people's lives and property, what could I say that was adequate except "thanks".
It's times like these we forget state rivalry and remember that we are all one nation.

Interesting comment on these guys. Two weeks ago there were a lot of Mexican and Deep North fireys at the fires in Central West NSW. Now there are trucks & crews from NSW and crews from NZ at the Victorian fires.
Its a big commitment being a firey. Hats off to them all.

Yep, I agree - we are a staunch crowd when it comes to helping each other in dire circumstances, brings tears to my eyes knowing what the people affected by bushfire are going through. The
Canberra fires came to our
boundary and stopped, many many more were not so lucky...
Yet with the benifit of all our experience once again the greenies who rant & rave & give all manner of excuses to prevent controlled burn offs to reduce the fuel levels run & hide when the fires take over.
This time though with the Army assisting with logistical support & the early help from NZ & interstate vollunteers one can only hope that they will stop this fire before it gets to the coast.
I'm not a religious bloke but I pray for devine intervention and the safety of those involved.

We owe the vics a big debt in the central west of NSW . I was returning from
Mudgee last Saturday and must have passed 40 RFC fire vehicles on their way home. I was facinated watching the
water bombers refilling with
water. It was like a miltary operation. Apparantly these turbo props can carry 3 ton of
water .
At lest we have modern technogoly on our side these days
Cheers and keep safe firies
Pete
