Jaycar do a kit, you have to build it of course so soldering skills will be needed!

Piranha used to do electronic ignition kits. I had one I fitted to a 2f, then a 3f. The same unit titted the 4cyl. hilux, only with a 4 slot disc instead of 6. I had many years of reliable service with it, and no points adjusting. I only recently sold the 3f motor and let it go with it. I Fitted a 1HZ diesel to my 62 series wagon.

HI,Dick smith used to make a kit for under $100 which was transistor assisted points set up.You still retain your points but all they do is switch a milliamp type current to a giant transistor which then carries the working current of the ignition system, point vertually last forever, only the rubbing block continues to wear and you regap points every 20 odd thousand ks.I made it up and used it for 10 years until it went bung one day and all i did was unplug a couple of wires and bypass back to points only.Hall effect sensors are beaut until they dont work one day in the middle of nowhere.steve
