Does anyone know what a Barrett 250L looks like? features? can show me a photo of it?
I Need to find out what difference the 250L model is from the straight 250. Also, what are the dimensions of the radio? Need a radio that will fit in a tite spot!
Cheers

L means local, as in base station radio. You need an R (remote head). Take a peek at Ebay, there's a bloke on there called Underdunk and he has some for sale. Give him a bell he's a nice bloke.
Sorry, no idea of dimensions, but the remote head version is a good size for most 4wd cabins.
The Codan 9323 has a smaller head, and a larger pricetag :))

The R version is the one with a remote head.
Be careful as some 250's were ex WA police and totally useless without a special kit from the guy I mentioned.

Longjohn

May pay to check with Andrew at Barrett in Perth to what the availability of spare part for the radio before buying it. The 550 is fine

Yeah I was a bit sus to the 250 and it looked a bit bulky, but I have heard they are a sinch to program and more user freindly. Im a bit of a fiddler so it appealed to me. Nevertheless I went with a newer codan unit for about twice as much as I knew it would prob perform better.
