Hi,

No they are not the same.

Up until the current Pathfinder both vehicles were of a similar size but the Fronteras origins come from Isuzu. Fronteras are no longer sold in Australia.

Have a good one.

As has been said they are very different.

I own a Frontera, the last model ever!!! Fronteras are slightly smaller (in height only) versions of Jackaroos.
It is great but no match for my Patrol GQ for clearance etc. But it sure has plenty of grunt and handles like a sports car. The Patrol is better on rougher roads though for comfort. I have heard Parthy's are smooth off road as well.

I was looking for Pathy's when I bought the 'terra as I like Nissans, but they were not available from our dealer then. Had to go for the Navara if I wanted Nissan or fork out the big bucks for a Patrol.
Now the prices are so close for pathy's and Patrols, I wouldn't look Pathy unless economy and size were your real issues.

Aust 4WD Monthly did a used car review including Pathfinders recently. Worth a read.
