V8 Troopie
I sent an inquiry to the eastern States supplier of K&N air filters and this is the reply I got:
Please contact your local AutoBarn or Burson store , as they will be
able to help you out with the filter.
However, I cant find either
shop listed in the
Perth (WA) business directory. Does anybody know who stocks these air filters in
Perth?
And, has anybody got one and is really happy with it? I'm trying to find something better & less messy than the foam finer filter I'm using in the troopy at the moment.
Thanks,
Klaus

Klaus,
I use the Factory Air Filters - they are made to be washed in
water - instructions for doing so are written on the filter.

My "new" rig is fitted with a large Donaldson paper filter. After what I've been reading on this
forum about both K&N filters and the oiled type (Unifilter and Finer Filter), there is no way I'll be trusting anything other than the genuine Donaldson filter in this 6.5 donk.

Do your engine a favour, wipe out the fine layer of dust in the trunking between the air filter and the engine and as Phil said fit a genuine washable paper filter for much better filtration.
