I am enquiring about the availability of LPG in remote areas, mainly of
Cape York.

Jason, have a look at the LPG Association web site at
http://www.alpga.asn.au/home/index.asp then click on the link down the bottom of the page to find your nearest LPG outlet. It's a database Australia wide and will tell you pretty much every outlet in the country - it's a great resource I have used many times.
