Its in your owners manual. I had the salesman run me through it as part of their owner familiarisation when I first picked my Prado up.
You need to get in good with your local Toyota service department. I can go in and get all sorts of little things done without charge. A little bit of sucking up, blow some air up their !@#$ when necessary, which can go a long way sometimes and save money.
I'm actually about to ring my service department to tell them how impressed I was with something they fixed...might get some
miles out of that.

This is from the 90 series site:
Registration of New Master Key
------------------------------------------------------------------------
With increasing security on modern vehicles, the Prado has not escaped the touch of the electronic key fairy. Security
information is stored within the master key and matched to the security computer. If the master key is lost or rendered inoperative, the process of replacing the key/computer is tedious and expensive.
As a safety precaution, one should create a copy of the master key and save it away for safe keeping. The following describes the procedure.
* Within 15 seconds, perform the following
3 steps:
1. All doors closed. Key not in cylinder
2. Insert already registered master key in the key cylinder
3. Turn ignition switch from the LOCK to ON position 5 times
* Within 20 seconds, Open and Close the driver's door 6 times
* Within 10 seconds, remove the master key from the key cylinder.
* Within 10 seconds, insert the key to be registered into the key cylinder
* Keep the ignition switch at the ON position for 60 seconds or more
* Remove key
* Open and Close the driver's door once
* End of procedure
ps I haven't tried it so can't vouch for its authenticity but there was a huge discussion that
forum a few years ago and this was the finally agreed answer from memory (i cut and pasted the answer).

You do the hokey pokey and turn around and that's what it all about!!!!
We had a problem once and a
young guy from Toyota came out with his instructions and tried three times (turn out to be a different problem)
Young bloke said "I don't understand, maybe I didn't do it quick enough!" then he tried to do it as fast as he could (I wish I had a video with me), still nothing, and again he said "I don't understand why this isn't working"
I said "you didn't clap your hands three times!" Had to try hard to stop myself laughing as he re-read the instuctions before realising I was joking!

Hi Jon
Have a look in your owners manual pocket you should have a book about remote central locking, this should explain it .
My 100 series does although i found out too late, tells you how to program with an original and without one at all
By the way you might want to call another toyota dealer for a price ! !
When i brought my 100 series it didn't come with a remote at all.
I brought 2 from
Melbourne Toyota $35 each, i then neded to have them programed the cost to have the remotes programed was $70 for both.
I was unable to leave the car with them as they wanted it for the day, on my way
home i stopped at Essendon Toyota being closer to
home to book it with them,
The service manager said yes no worries i can do it now while you wait, cost was $10 took 20 minuites dirve in drive out
Since then when ever i need parts i ring both Dealers believe it or not every time without fail i get a price difference in parts !

Bloody great isn't it? The above is how my 100 series TD was stolen!!
Toyota tell you "Oh a Landcruiser can't be stolen, it has a coded key and we'd NEVER, EVER give out a copy to just anyone"!!
,,,,,,,,,and then they they tell you how to do it in The Owners Manual!!
Marvellous!!

I couldn't find it
mine either - before it went in the bin. No sense in having a Toyota manual when you drive a Nissan.
But the required info IS out there somewhere in the public domain. So the key can be programmed outside of a Toyota workshop and the vehicle can be stolen.
Or how else did they drive
mine away? Off my driveway in the middle of the night. I still had the keys in my pocket - all sets!
