I put my own drawers and fridge slide into the Chevissan - after some lowlife stole the 'Cruiser with a brand new set of Outbacks in it I wasn't gonna pay again!

I recently had to remove my home made ones after the missus tried to push a tree over in reverse and banjoed the arriss of the truck. I also did a few mods to it whilst it was out. I took a heap of pics as I was refitting it today.

Is anyone interested in pics of the set up?

I'm not gonna go to all the trouble of "posting on a hosting" if nobodys interested! We have had a few on here already.

Have a look at the draw design the guy has posted up here:

Site Link

I used it as a basis for mine and they have turned out quite well. Uses approximately 30mm sealed bearings for the rollers and skateboard bearings to keep the draws running true. The tracks are 20mm RHS.

I should have mine finished off tomorrow and will post up a few pics.

I finished covering them today.
All nicely encased in carpet and ply, so hopefully, they won't rattle too much. The bearings are arranged so that when the draw is pushed all the way in it is locked by a roller so it can't move up and down.
I have to line the draw with something though as before I put it all together I drove into work with a screwdriver in one of the draws and it almost drove me mad rolling around.

Here is the finished product:

Hi Bilbo,
It is always great to see the time and effort that people put into their rigs.
Please put your photos on the forum so we can all admire your work.

I see someone's hijacked the thread, but it doesn't matter as his are very sexy looking drawers as well.

Pics of mine - there are about 15 of 'em with about another 10 yet to be posted, are located at:

Cut 'n paste that link into yer browser. This way it saves space on the Exploroz system.

The welding is a bit rough. The square tube is about 1mm thick and I don't have a MIG welder and I did it with stick.

Any questions - feel free to ask

nice work bilbs, love the side pods and front unit for hf etc.

and dont worry about the welds - thats what carpet is for, it covers a multitude of sins in home fabrication. :-)
