dont know what it would be dude, mine is the 4.8 auto. very tough gearbox. Maybe your clutch is getting funny, how many klms?

You will be covered by a 3 month statutory warranty if you purchased it from a dealer. other than that, regrettably, no.

Sorry, the 3 month Stat warranty applies in QLD. Not sure on the other states.

Has the gearbox been rebuilt?

If it has, when they did mine there was some problem in the way they installed the selectors and it eventually had to be pulled out and fixed.

Only when cold?? Does it improve when the 'box warms up??
Incorrect oil will give the symptoms you describe..

Nissan specify 75w-90 API GL4... Note the GL4 spec..

I'm using F u c h s Titan 7590, and have no such symptoms..

thanks for the reply's , we bought a 3 year warranty with it , it's done 113 thousand km and sometimes it's ok if you change gears slowly , like really slowly .How long would the gearbox last?If you have any ideas please let me know and i dont think it has been rebuilt .

A quick check / fix would be to drain the transmission oil and fill it with an 80/90 grade - gearbox and transfer case. Doesn't matter at this stage what brand you use - if it was the heavier 75/140 it may give you the symptoms you've mentioned.

If the change of oil fixed it, then it's all good. If it didn't then at least you know you have the right grade of oil then it could be say the synchros that are worn - just take it from there with the dealer.

Had a Rodeo once, that was almost impossible to affect any gear change, when cold.

Happened immediately after a service, and the service manager told me to take off in 3 rd and when it warmed up it would be fine ,,he was right,,bit hard on the clutch though.

I had to wait for the correct oil to be replaced, and in the mean time, I put slippery diff oil in it,,, try that it makes a world of difference !

Cheers
Bucky
