Hi guys,

It’s been an interesting year on this forum and very enjoyable being part of the interaction. Even an old fart like me has leant a couple of tricks.

The site has had its share of characters. However, they do bring a certain colour to the proceedings.

Probably the most interesting thing I’ve found, is the response (numerically) to various posts.

Needless to say... In the new Year we can expect more of the following:

Higher taxes (for our own good)
Endless discussion on tyre choice and pressure
Mine is bigger than yours (Toyota/Nissan)
Is it hot in summer?
Politicians leading us down the road to self righteous
Less land access (not to mention the associated permits)
The importance of after market equipment (kindly brought to us by the WAD magazines)
Gibb River Road (It's a tourism route for heavens sake)
Global warming

That’s it from me guys. Very enjoyable year chewin' the fat with you.

I wish you and your family a very merry Xmas and happy New Year

Regards

Kim

LOL you forgot

Fridges
Speed cameras
Speed limits
P-platers

and a few other yawn-provoking subjects.

Best wishes to you and yours over the Festive season.

Double damn,

I also forgot about the conspiracy theories too.

As an ex employee of the petroleum Industry, I won't have a bad word said about them.

Not once did we ever tell a porky (to support this, I've never told a lie in my life).

All this nonsense about market manipulation can't possibly be true!

"Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn, and cauldron bubble
Fillet of a fenny snake,
In the cauldron boil and bake;
Eye of newt and toe of frog,
Wool of bat and tongue of dog,
Adder's fork and blind-worm's sting,
Lizard's leg and owlet's wing,
For a charm of powerful trouble,
Like a hell-broth boil and bubble."

Does that sound like the right recipe Footy ???

Today I installed OziExplorer and Natmap on the new laptop , so I am ready to go . I will have a play with it all tomorrow after I come back from the dentist - then I will ask you some questions .
I had a couple of good offers from guys who live near me , to show me what to do. I am going to contact them this week .

Hi Footie

Cheers ,

Willie .

Sir (Footloose),

I take umbrage at your assertion I'm a mentally balanced Individual.

My mental condition is a lot lower than yours and I challenge you to prove it
otherwise!

I have an ex wife who will support my case.

Kim

Hi Willie. Many of us have been there and done that. Certainly isn't rocket science. Once you "get it", it's dead easy :))
Two main things to remember
Get the location of your files right
Remember that every map has a special "map" file.
On the other hand, maybe a root canel is easier .........:)

Willie,
Good. Fire away when you're ready. As Footy said, it's not hard just gets a little confusing with all the options available at times.

Kim,
Don't worry about Footy. We'd never, for a moment, consider you a metally balanced individual :)))))))

Sir (Footloose),

Your use of four letter words does undermine a sense of language posterity. Be mindful of the old saying:

"The constant use of profanity is a tacit omission of verbal inaptitude"

Please be mindfull of this when drinking in Outback pubs.

Are you suicidal? inciting Engel owners to riot. I know they've made the wrong choice. I know they know I know they're wrong.

That's why I kept away from that thread.

Sir Kim, not only do I reek of verbal inaptitude, I have every other inaptitude also. Hence the useage of four lettered words ...such as "W O R K".
And when reposing upon the inevitably torn stool in a bush pub, I scan the walls and discover that aliens have indeed landed. Mind you it's comforting to see that they donate to the local culture which often appears to have an undercover appearance.

Gramps, it's all Willems fault telling us that we need to live for the moment, do burnouts (light fires ?) and do dohnuts (Yumm) and suchlike. T'was then I realized what a worry wort I am. What a cautious nerd. I heeded the advice to seize the moment. And when I seized the moment,...it was covered by a green mat.

This site is being taken over by big brain people. Why don't we put to a test.

Read the following and tell me if I'm praising the women or not:

When you durst do. then you were a women;
and, to be more than what you were,
you would be so more the women.

Apologies to me little mate Shakespeare.

Footloose, try to constain yourself!

(And by the way, oh One Line Worrier, you've all but exhausted your lifetime's quota of one-liners:we all hope it slipped by the censors, eh Gramps.)
And as this post will probably publish out of sequence, most meaning is lost.
