A question I've always meant to find the answer to is the Engel green mat.

What is it made of and what it its purpose in life?

I have heard of people buying extra ones, just wondered why and what it does, and prob more so what is the effect of forgetting it?

My guess is to stop the basket rubbing on the floor.

Wait for it folks...............
The function of the Engel green mat is to sit on while chanting your mantra

..................................

"I wish I'd bought a Waeco, I wish I'd bought a Waeco"

*Footy ducking for cover*

In view of recent sad events, I'm not surprised that a FNQder would go around chanting about stingrays :))

Crazy, My Man,
Checked your link re 'green mat', and am now full bottle.
(Well, almost).
As you live along the Great Green Way, and have (apparently),a Great Green Mat,I was just wondering how those less fortunate get by.
Brown? Red? Smoked?
Engel would never discriminate, surely!
(And as for Footyl's comment re mantras 'n stuff: well, it has been a long year for some.)
Hey Bloke, brilliant '07. JH.

ps. 'tiss the silly season, betul.

All the best

Hi Eric ................
Green side UP .... according to my Manual.
Also helps to disguise the greenish bits that seem to accumulate in the bottom of the 'fridge after a week or so in the field !!

And without hi-jacking the thread too much ........ but still on Engels :

I have just tonight sent off an eMail to Engels with a minor complaint about their Transit Bag. ............ finally got very frustrated with trying to open the lid [40Litre 40th Anniv. Engels] where the transit bag is so snug as to prevent easy access to lifting the Lid Catch Lever up, [that don't sound like good grammar, ay!]

As mine is sited in my Troopy, on a set of Rear _Affordable_Storage_Drawers.aspx, it is rather high [ as I myself have been !!] and it is very frustrating to spend some minutes trying to get my obviously too-fat fingles inside a very narrow opening ... [nobody go there, right.!!!!]

Have suggested a simple U-shaped cut-out will fix the problem and still allow the zip closers to be effective. Hopefully, they will incorporate this modification in the next model and will, in gratitude, send me the first one off the the line ???
Must go now, the missus just yelled out she doesn't have a headache tonight!!

Wonder which one is the dream ???

Or ......... is it just me ??

But ...... on a more contributory note :

I have found a solution to the problem of the little things in your fridge [ Engels, anyway!] all ending up squished at the bottom and/or under big things and/or tasting of something gross ...............

A standard plastic-coated WIRE Office IN-Basket [or even an out-basket, I suppose?] will sit perfectly ON THE TOP of the existing fridge basket and hold heaps of little stuff.
I had to 'chop' a small area from the FRONT of the OFFICE basket/tray but it really works. You can close the lid with NO RUBMARKS or INDENTATIONS whatsoever and you can just lift it up [leaving it inside the fridge] to get at stuff underneath
AND, wait for it .......... it costs about threepence ha'penny to buy !!! How good is that ??

Means my Cadbury's Dark doesn't fall through and end up tasting of YUKKKK !!

Anyway, I thought it was clever ???

Thanks for replies and link.

I'd been asked by others n never knew the answer.

Weight distribution..... well I 'd never have thought it.... always thought it had some sort of thermal reflectivity.

Mine has always been green side up, under the basket.

ps... wonder how many other people read this who didnt know but now do
