Hi guys and gals ,
I'm a new member and I have a question about my 92 jackeroo .It is a 3.2 v6 auto and a 2 door at that and I am having a problem when it gets hot it does not to want to go into reverse at all and some days it slips like crazy and yet when I stop it seems to go okay after that .I have a feeling that the gearbox is just about had it
or is there something else I don't know about. My son suggested that disconnecting the e.c.u. or computer for about 24 hours and then reconnecting it might help but I don't know .
Can you help?

Sounds like you need an auto trans workshop to have a look at it.

Have you checked the oil level?
But it does sound like an auto service will find some clutch plates in the pan...... I am unsure if it has a clutch band to control reverse, but there could also be signs of that in the pan/filter too.

Yeah I've done the transmission service myself and taken off the filter but could not find any evidence of clutch material in it .I've changed the oil twice an to no avail.Guess I'm up for a new gearbox .There is no way to adjust the bands is there?

Don't know about Jacks but the old commodores used to have a bolt that you adjusted with a torque wrench that I thought adjusted the bands. It was a while ago so could be wrong.
