Just passed through and the long-threatened closure of Banshea Exit and closure of access to marshy area has happened.
Public
campsite still available, but now just a straight drive through with no side trail at all.
Shame.

thanks for that info mate,
also, i believe most of the good tracks at Lidsdale could be gone now as they are logging
the pines intensely before it all becomes National
Park early next year.

The only reason there is (or was) a threat of closure of the tracks around
Dingo Dell is due to actions of some of the 'irresponsible' people of the 4WD & motorcycle fraternity. The owner of the private property around the Dell had made numerous cautionary threats because of drivers & riders travelling 'off piste' causing degredation and erosion to the area.
You will note the regeneration area now- the fenced area adjacent to the
creek.
Like a lot of situations, if all users did the right thing- we would not have these closures.
Hope you had a good time out there. Did you do
the Caves to Caves drive?? Including Kanangra??

Had a great time - I tried the Cox's River / Six Foot Track route on a wet Saturday as a pre-cursor to
the Caves-to-Caves. Wildlife was abundant but seemed a bit mystified by the fence (roos mainly) at
Dingo Dell.
Ranger passed through to say hello as we left. He admired our spotless
campsite ;)
Also went via Limeburners which was empty and helped a bereft motorist on
the Caves Road. Very strange - he had some funny alloys which his own wrench wouldn't fit (how?!) but by shear luck the Patrol wrench fitted perfectly - as if the Patrol had a higher mission that day!
All crossings very low - Kowmung barely at the hubs!
Trails and camps empty except for a couple of vehicles on the stock route. Expect it will be very different in a fortnight.
Cheers,
Tim
