Hi all I've got a set of Goodyear Wrangler all Terrains on my truck 31*10.5

there about 15,000 k old and are suffering from some nasty screeching when cornering they look like they have worn well no obvious marks or anything like that they have had very little time off-road, the wheels are aligned correctly and everything else seems to be in order.. anyone else have this problem with these?

I keep thinking something is locking my hubs on me but there not..

bugs me bad..

check your tyre pressure - under inflated tyres will squeal.

Gidday,
I had GY Wranglers on my Frontera from new and I swear I will never have them again. The wear was good (around 65k at replacement with about 20k left) but they were downright dangerous. Like you they made squeally noises early at every opportunity they could get. Takeoff (thought I had too much power), cornering (sounded like I was Brocky) and stopping.
In the wet they were just plain lethal. They had NO grip and even squealed then. I always thought yank movies with tyres howling was a movie prank, but no they must have been using wranglers. I could get front and rears lighting up in 4wd on almost any surface. (245/16's)

I now have Pirelli Scorpions and they are quiet, they grip, and they are safe. Mysteriously they don't squeal and they never lose traction no matter how I try. Great in the dirt too.

Maybe mine were just the American issue (Fronteras made in USA) but I have heard others doing it also even in car parks with normal bitumen.

I would sell them as good second handers and get yourself some safer tyres.

My Opinion....
Regards Cam

Thanks for your responses guys, I suppose will just put it down to being poor quality, I'm sure everything else on the car is correct I've tried rebalancing and rotating, Cam I too find them terrible in the wet.. luckily I got them brand new at a good price so not too much loss. looks like I'm selling them..

thanks again.

Must be the type of compound, i've got Dunlop Grandtrek on the 100 series worst tyre i've ever driven with squeel on most road surfaces, break traction in the wet easyly and dry without trying
