A member from our club is interested if anyone has had a Nissan 3ltr T/D converted to a Diesel/LPG. If they have he wants to know what if any power increase, and what the fuel consumption is like. He has contacted a fitter in Adelaide but they don't ring him back.......

So, the truth is finally out, eh Blaze? Member Des Lexic has bought a new Patrol (finally)..........Oh well, at least it's a step in the right direction I suppose, but why didn't he get the 4.2TD? hahahaha

BTW, I can tell you that the LPG works well on a 6.5Chev.........

No, Not Des Roachie, though he has been keeping a low profile the last week or so LOL. I know the LPG works well on most vehicles and he also believes it will increase power etc on his 3ltr just wanted to see if we could get some figures. They have the figures for the 4.2 every advert you see for the conversion but nothing about 3 ltr.

Mind you the way they self distruct I would be a tad worried about giving them more fire in the belly. hehehehe

Gday Roachie and Blaze - just picked up the 2.8 GU from Lovatow's (diesel gas australia) and I'm impressed - had it over on a dyno today and up from 84 to 96 kW (14%), and its supposed to be set up for economy. I could go on, but I may as well post a newwie on it!

Cheers Andrew

Sounds good Andrew, Do you know if they have done a 3ltr yet? Or of anyone who has.... Seems I am hearing about 4.2 and 3ltr yota's, 4.2 Neesans and even Rodeos and of course we can't forget Roachies monster motor but nothing on 3ltr Patrols or Navara's ??????

Hi Blaze

I had my 3L ZD30 2001 Automatic installed in September 2006 by Dieselgas agent in Kingswood Penrith NSW. They are a good firm to do business with.

Before LPG economy was 12.1 L per 100kms. This was checked over approximately 10,000kms of about 85% suburban stop start, 10% hiway and 5% 4wd rough track, sand etc.

After LPG total fuel consumption is still about 12.1 L/100 kms. 2.4 L/100 LPG and 9.7 L/100 100 diesel. But I have only covered 2,500 kms. I am a firm believer in checking fuel economy over about 10,000 kms in all conditions for accuracy.

I do not tow anything.

Power and usability has improved significantly, especially from standstill to about 70 kph and up hills at 80 - 100 kph. It now feels more like a petrol car. However, I am driving faster from the traffic lights and keeping up with the traffic flow on the Hume Highway more than I used because it travels so quietly and easily. my wife has a lead foot and I suspect she pushes it along in the traffic.

Engine oil seems to be remaining cleaner for longer.

Trust this helps

good luck
Phil
