As it gets closer I thought I'd wish everyone in the EO community a very happy Christmas. Special thoughts to those for who Christmas brings pangs of saddness. 2006 has been an interesting year for us, we had a great trip to Sth Aust visiting the
Flinders Ranges, we have spent some great times with many people that we have met via this site and have made some great new friendships - Al has been working in WA for much of the last part of this year and wil continue to do so and that has caused some changes here, but we're all coping with it. His dual cab business continues to grow and he continues to be praised for his work and will be on display again at Wandin in Feb. Next year will be another year of change with Callum heading off to school so hopefully I can get my Uni course finished.
The
forum once again has provided us with some great laughs and thanks to everyone who contributes special mention to Willie & Jimbo who know just how to push everyone's buttons, Bonz & Mike Harding who seem to have a goat fixation [by the way thanks Mike for my goat's name "Getsme"] Truckster, Truckster, Truckster - go to the photo shoot Bruce obviously all your Christmas' have come at once...and to all the regulars thanks so much.
To the special friends we've made on this
forum thanks for your friendship and support throughout the year, it's great to have such fantastic people in our corner.
And finally to everyone here, those people we know, those we don't have a very happy Christmas and if you're heading away keep safe.
Sláinte

I second the motion Lyn. EO brings together a dispirit group of people where there is a like mind in one major interest in travelling and meeting people. Travelling by 4wd is part and parcel for some but not all, and that has been where we have met most. I am not going to mention all by name but we have met so many where there is that common interest.
The last trips we did were into the areas now racked by fires and so we have commonality with those who really feel for the fireys who are away from families at this stage. We find commonality with so many people here that have feelings for the bush round Australia, desert sands, to tall trees to the geological history, to the unwritten histories. EO has experience of all of that and can express the information to cover so many interests it is of extraordinary value to all who visit.
No one should feel out of place as we so seldom know who they are until they come out and offer their resources to ensure wider contact and interaction. EO trips are just like that and then we can appoint to meet them another time and frequently do so.
I wish all EO Team members, Members, contributers and lurkers a very peaceful and Happy Christmas and hopefully a prosperous New Year. I say that not to prejudice those who don't follow religions recognising Christmas, for I offer and wish you peace and goodwill as part of my wishes.

Al, lyn, Tegan and Callum,
-and to all the users of this site,
The good natured banter (and some not quite so good natured), the information and interaction during the year has been very enjoyable.
From our family to yours, have an enjoyable time during the 'festive' season,
stay safe, happy and healthy.
Michael

And to you and family Lyn - I hope the new year brings you all together again asap - it's not much fun for a family being split by work :(
And to all the people who have been involved (in any way) in fire fighting in the High Country *** THANK YOU *** and I hope you have a safe and happy Christmas and New Year.
Finally; to _all_ on Explore Oz , not forgetting the owners and staff, thanks for the fun and frustration over the year people :) Have a good Christmas and NY.
A close friend of Bonz's
also wishes everyone
well :)
