Just been watching today tonite, your neck of the woods has actually made story no2 here in Qld, [afterthe war of course]
Aparently your extremely petty minded public service known as the Mornington Council is now Ripping down kids cubby houses unless engineer aproved even when on private land.

i think tommorow night there doing of story of a dog suing the local council beause its roof blew of its kennel and the owners didnt get a permit

Beat this, the story the other day on someone fell on one of the councils MAGIC 40 yr old foot paths made of leggo, and broke her leg, the council won, and said
" SUE THE HOUSE OWNER THE FOOTPATH IS OUT THE FRONT OF!"....

Not voted by me thankfully.. they were here before we moved here..
Wish we would have known.
Whats better is, we are not allowed to do our own driveways, the council has to do them.. which they "dont have the $ for"... but sue the owners of the house cause the driveway is phukt..
Am I really on the right planet...???

I don't know. We had one in NZ a while ago where a gentleman was being held at the pleasure of the Tax Payers judiciary (ie in the slammer). He escaped and broke his leg while trying. Believe it or not he successfully sued the Accident Compensation Commission (a Govt body) and got a payout. The law was changed shortly after that!

Like the one about the woman who sued the supermarket, AND won, over a minor injury caused by an out of control child.
