Due to no High Country, we are heading West with a camper trailer after a family function on Saturday & would like to stay approx 2 hours West of Melbourne, at either a campsite or if need be, a caravan park, maybe somewhere near Camperdown.
Has anybody got any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Shaker

There used to be a small camping area(abt 10 years ago) on the shores of Lake Bookar, northwest of Camperdown. It could be a Bird Hide or small Conservation Park.

We drove down there towing a 27 footer and had to do a number of backwards and forwards' to turn the rig around. The geese and ducks on the lake made quite a noise but it was very peaceful otherwise. There is a building and maybe a long drop...not sure.

Cheers

We've camped in the camp area at Langi Ghiran State Park. Nice camping and it has toilets - about 5-6km North of the highway - turnoff is signposted about 10k east of Ararat.

Sorry Shaker, didn't realise that you'd be on the Princes Hwy. I should have looked up Camperdown.

Merry Xmas too
