Has anyone had any experience transporting a 4wd from
Darwin to
Adelaide?
A plan is being hatched to drive to the
Kimberley, have a wander about and fly
home (to save time more so than money).
Judging by a quick look with google, it's entirely possible. However those I've looked at so far state the vehicle has to be quite literally empty (so can't leave the camping gear in it, though bless their hearts the transport companies also offer assistance with removalists).
Any practical solutions??
Thanks,
John

It's a matter of finding the right company ..
had that same issue with a car
Perth to
Brisbane and at the end of the day found a company doing it with a packed car .. mind you it was a station wagon and not a 4WD .. maybe the weight is an issue .... a friend of
mine got his H2 delivered from
Brisbane to
Perth ... Rail only ... but that has to do with size .. my truck would only go on a flat bed .. very expensive ... maybe you find a friend or friend of a friend who is interested to drive it back .. there is an organisiation which does organise drive backs for campers etc .. but I guess it has to be empty for that too ...
at the end of day I guess its way more economical to drive it back ... just 2-3 days ... so what ...
good luck
