Just handed over my trusty 10 yr old GQ to my first born. Updated with a new IV GU 3 weeks ago. Great Truck !!! just wanting to know if anyone else has THE noise. It has a driveline noise when crawling and coming to a stop and the clutch is depressed. Not sure how to test for backlash. Just know the GQ never had it.

Does it go when you take your foot off the clutch? Then come back again when you put it on.
Is it only when you have the clutch depressed that it happens.
If so it is probably a faulty thrust bearing in the clutch.

Thanks. But it's just a "Clunk" as you depress the clutch. No noise while the clutch is engaged. No mechanical Guru, never had any issues with backlash in any other vehicles, If I had to describe it, I would call it backlash. it's most noticable reversing, but does it in crawling to a stop in first as
well.

Don't believe it. You are hearing things.
Nissan's never ever make or have noises or for that matter, anything go wrong with them.
Just ask, BONZ, Truckster and/or Roachie.
have a couple of more X-mas drinks and put it down to Mis-adventure or maybe Mis-hearing.
Merry X-mas M-GU

hi there macca,if you concern with this noise take it back to your dealer for a rt.the noise could be "roll over"when the clutch is depressed and you are crawling to a stop, the gearbox is still turning internal.you may here a slight bearing/gear noise which is consider normal for this type of gearbox.due to its a new vehicle allow the running gear to wear in.good luck.

Thanks. I'll pay the dealer a visit tomorrow and see what they have to say before we head off up to the Murray. Was just curious if anyone else had experienced the same noise in their GU. Lucy, maybe I'll should check it again when I finish this Jimmy ;-)
