If you get a gov house and i believe they give pretty good allowances for living in a remote place, go for it.We got there in Feb and it was hot and humid, just think about doing anything and your a lather of sweat.Day temp around 40 ish, onite to around 30.By about april may its cooling off nicely and is a pleasure to live .Day temps around 36-38 and onite to 15-18.These day temp are misleading as a 36 day up there feels like a about 26 in Tassie and the 40 plus weather up there feels like around 30-32 down here.It is shorts and singlet weather all year.
You have an endless list of
places to go and see, plenty of fishen(if you like it), dont forget that all rivers are off limits for swiming(even though all locals swim in the rivers).Every afternoon you get a spectacular evening glow on the hills around town, the birds and wildlife are great, plenty of everything.we found the school great, better than the one they attend in Tassie. They seem to teach more about the culture, animals, history as
well as all the usual stuff.Plenty of good shops for all your needs but its a 1000km drive to anywhere bigger.Plane flights out are expensive, housing is expensive,we had a good neighbourhood.
There are plenty of nice swimming spots along Parry creekrd, valentine pool, middle springs and alot more that are unnamed and you need local directions to get there.Lake
Kununurra has plenty of swiming spots and if you have a boat anywhere heading up to
Lake Argyle on the river is great.
I would buy a house in a second there but my family wernt so keen and in the end work stuffed me around and I got an oppertunity back in tassie to run my own buisiness near our home so we are back.
Id go for it , you only have one chance of life and have to take chances before you miss out.
Cheers Nick
