Has anyone been to the
campsite at Peacock
Creek, in the
Richmond Ranges Northern NSW - recently?
It is located west of Kyogle, and NE of Bonalbo in the National
park.
Would like some feedback on
camping there - areas to
camp,
walking tracks, how crowded, etc.
Thinking of taking the Patrol & offroad van in. Was told the internet info is not quiet accurate, and campers/vans are OK.
(I have found the Govt pages, and the ExplorOZ - all limited info.)
Thanks.................................Keith

keith, i was there a couple of months ago, nice grassy open
camp area with a large open shelter and fire place. no problems for camper. as it is near a
state forest it sometimes gets a few bike riders
camping so it can be noisy. a quiet sheltered and
shady camp not far from there that has some nice
walking tracks is "iron pot
creek'
camp ground in the toonumbar national
park near the dam.

We have camped there a couple of times and it can be nice as described above.Motor Bikes can be a problem if you catch a bad weekend.
Toonumbar
Forrest Drive is a nice run through to the Dam and you can also travel the Lions Den Road up into the Border ranges through Symmes Road. There are plenty of tracks around the area. The road into the
camp ground is gravel and no problems.Only would be a problem if you have heavy rain. Have a
good camp.
