Don't do it!!!!!
4.8's hate gas and give heaps of grief. I just sold
mine for that reason, another mate of
mine is selling his for same. Do as much research as you can.
Good luck!!!

My Old Man has a 4.8 on Gas it it is as smooth as a baby's bum. Tows a 21 foot van like a charm. Around town he using 25L/100 km and towing the van this goes up to about 28 or 29. At 40 cents a litre, that's cheap motoring.
I suppose it may depend on what gas oufit you get and how
well it is fitted, tuned etc.

Have two friends in our 4x4 club here in
Perth who both run 4.8s and both vehicles are running on LPG 365 days a year and never had a moments problem. It all depends who fitted it and whether he was absolutely 100% knowledgeable about how to install the system. Also depends on the equipment that he used and what was left out to make it run so badly. Too many people jumping on the band wagon ready to make a quick buck, yet have no idea what is needed to get the vehicle running properly. Need to find someone who has been in the industry for many years and let them have a look and see whats wrong.

I had
mine fitted by LPG1 in Victoria, the recognised main installers (I got money back from them for burnt out Cat and they acknowledged that 4.8's have issues) . I knoe Jimbo's Dad has just had his fitted so too soon to comment on that. The Vapour Injection systems may be Ok

Hi All
just done the 100k on LPG with a 2001 4.8 Patrol, not an issue in sight, smooth as a babys bum so to speak. Overall KM's now 171k
Its the same with any vehicles some have no issues some do, it has paid for itself with me and I would want my new one to be on LPG as
well
Regards
AJ
