points gap on fj 62

would any one know the points gap setting on petrol 3f motor,
also the timming mark on the fly wheel seems to be a bit tricky
as
well,should it be cleaned somehow while idling..??

Gday narrv points gap in the old scale is about 21 thou as for the timing mark just gotta turn the motor by hand till ya find it then mark it with some white out or similar but from memory its a bastard to find Cheers

yeh i found two marks one drilled hole mark and below it was a line ..
I set the timing on the round mark , maybe i should advance it a bit for a bit
of extra get up and go..???
But she seems to be running good.
Driving it to
Carnarvon next week loaded up trailer etc,,,,on timing mark
or advance it a bit ?????
shes done 280 000 kms uses a little bit of oil on the open highway.

socket on the power steering pump will turn motor so you can find the timing mark on the HARMONIC BALANCER. spot of liquid paper on Top Dead Centre mark will make setting timing easier next time

Its on the flywheel old mate with a 3f not on the balancer unlike most cars, right hand side there is a little window about level with the dizzy.
Gap is set @ 0.4-0.5mm but i suggest you check & adjust with a dwell meter.
