I brought some Braded Stainless Steel Radiator hoses From the U.S towards the beginning of the year.
The Hoses have been on for around 20,000k when the top Hose split in 2
places about 4-inch from one of the ends and subsequently leaked coolant.
Luckily I had opened the bonnet to top up my windscreen washer
water and noticed drops of coolant coming out of the hose.
I pulled it off and replaced it with a new one I Brought at the Auto partes store on Boxing Day (Couldn’t believe they were actually open.)
A little disappointed about the failure and unsure what would have caused it, thinking it may have been the type of coolant I use. I fired a E-mail off to the
Shop in the U.S Who I buy most of my parts off. To inform them off the failure and to get there opinion on what might have been the cause.
Get an E-mail back saying.
We apologise about the Failure of such a new Hose, we are unsure of why it would degrade so quickly but if you return it we will exchange it for a new Hose.
Now Since I have already brought a new hose and the shipping would end up costing me more than what the hose is worth anyway I am not going to worry about it, But never the less I am impressed that they would even change over a part like that since it has been used.
But I could always take them up on their offer and get the replacement hose and then sell it for $120, which is under the retail cost for this hose in Australia.

Stupid question here but why would you bother with a braided radiator hose in the first place?
I just replaced my Tojo ones as a precaution wuth the coolant change at 240,000k
$15 ea for genuine.

I could buy these ones from the US for a lot less that what I could buy the STD rubber replacement hoses for hear.
Before I brought em, I tried 3 Auto parts stores for aftermarket replacement Top and Bottom radiator hoses and non-have them for an Explorer and the OEM ones are around $150-$200 depending on what ford dealer you go too.
So it was clear what was the better option at the time.
And the Braded hoses just look Nice when the Engine bay is all cleaned up as
well:)

Hi Exploder.
When you say" Braided" is that inside the hose as like hydraulic hose?.
Cheers.

The Hose is ribbed and also has a Stainless steel spring moulded to the inside of the hose Makes it Flexible, but you are unable to kink it and it will not suck in on it self , 309 Stainless steel wire Brading then covers the hose to limit expansion from pressure and for hose protection.
Cheers.
