Hi Folks,
My sons car and a group of his mates vehicles were attacked last night while they were all at a party. They have been sprayed with white paint on just about every body panel.
Needless to say I would love to get my hands on the little pricks that did this but the more immediate problem is how best to get the paint off.
We have managed to get the bulk off this morning but it has hundreds of little spots which have set hard and we can't get rid of them. It is definitely an oil based paint.
Does anyone have any ideas on the best way to go.
If we don't have any luck it may be a spray painter job.
Thanks.

Yeah I would talk to a Panel
shop for advice.
But you could give some Cut and polish/ rubbing compound a try with a lot of elbow grease.

If the paint is still fresh and soft, then some prepsol and a rag used lightly should move it, followed by a light cut and polish.
or just go straight for a light cut a few times over on affected areas as neccesary. follow up with a good polish and wax.

Brad,
What is left has set fairly
well but we will try the cut and see how we go.

I don't know if it would affect the paint or not, but I do know that often when the councils need to get rid of graffitti from spray cans, I have been told that Aeroguard does the trick perfectly..
I can't imagine it would do anything to the paint job, maybe try it somewhere inconspicuous first.
Cheers
Jo

Hello Bonzarrelli!
Hope you faired
well over Christmas! We went down to Crystal
Creek NSW to hide out in the rainforest for a few days, came back Christmas Day. Mark said last night we should go
camping today since I have a few days off work. Good plan but you just can't ever think of a place when you decide on spur of the moment!
He is good. Has good days bad days, but hasn't been in hospital this month so that is a good thing! Coming off two of the main drugs has made him feel much better.
I have no idea where to go
camping! put on
the spot! I'll have to get your email Bonz. can you message it to me?
Cheers
Jo

There is a product that Meguirs sell. The panel shops use it for really badly damaged panels. Stuff like Air Pollution and acid rain from the steel works etc.
It is used to buff the marks off so it may help you??

Mate, ditto to the aeroguard it is the best thing for removing paint and permanent marker. Spray a bit on, wait 10 secs then wipe it off repeat until gone. Don't leave it on too long or it may make the paint soft underneath (auto duco in good nic is usually preatty tough). Give the car a good wash afterwards. I use it at work for removing graffiti from my road plant and it hasn't hurt thr machinery's paint only the graffiti.
Regards
Tour Boy

I see the aeroguard suggestion is more widely known than I thought.
When we had some kids spray the colorbond front fence of the
Ambulance station a week or so back, the guy with the pub over the road suggested aeroguard.
We thought he was having us on. The SO tried it all the time thinking that someone somewhere was filming him for funniest home videos or something, but to our amazement it worked.
Bit like getting price label goo off cd cases with Mortein Surface Spray... these bug sprays are amazingly versatile it seems.
What confuses me is why did someone try it in the first place???

Gidday Brian,
I experienced a similar vandal attack back in August. I tried all the proprietary fixes including Prepsol, but the paint (enamel) had too long to set.
One of my neighbours saw (heard me cursing) what was going on and bought out a bottle of EUCALYPTUS OIL.
It worked like magic. You'll still need a little elbow grease but far less than the others. Give it a bit of a wash with soapy
water afterwards, followed by non-abrasive wax and that'll restore the shine. (The eucalyptus oil will remove the old wax).
Get it in Franklins or Woolies etc for a few bucks. The larger bottle will give you about 3 attacks worth :-((
