Pricewise is about the same as Evakool (actually slightly cheaper) but my wife like the look of the Waeco better. Any comment?

I am sure you like to have a job, so why not help keep your fellow Australian in a job and buy the proven 100% Australian made Evakool.

My mates and I have both.... both good but the Evakool is the best. Same compressor in both but the Evakool has better insulation- which is what counts when it gets very Hot...

P.S. Better insulation also means less power consumption- we have proven this using the two brands running side by side.
I believe the previous model that evakool made quite some time ago had a compressor which had some problems- but the current shape models (and the Waeco) have the Danfoss compressor which is bulletproof.

Just use Cryovac packed meat which keeps for up to 30 days. I am not impressed by the fridge freezers as there is no way to regulate the fridge tempreture
well.

Previous correspondent on this site is correct. Keep your money in Australia and keep Australians employed.
Evakool iceboxes are made in Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland. The Waeco units are made in the Phillipines by cheap labour and imported into Australia as a dumping ground
