Hi all, and a Happy New Year to all readers.
I have a 99 Petrol LC and just at the last fill I noticed that he fuel gauge read empty and the warning light come on. On switching the sub on the guage went to indicate full bur when switching back to main down the needle went back down. after some 10 ks the guage showed full. Any ideas????????

Hello,
Can't help with a solution to the problem but we had a 100 series cruiser of a similar year model with the 4.5 petrol at work a few years ago and this vehilce had exactly the same problem, so hopefully it's common enough that someone will know the answer (of maybe toyota).

Sounds like a plug full of mud under the car.....On a similar note....a woman once brought her new 4.5 80 series back under warrenty to check the fuel gauge/
tank for leaks....
tank wasnt leaking....gauge was ok too....untill driven....
