I seen advertised a 1993 Nissen Patrol 4.2lt on Dual fuel and was wondering how it would preform on gas pulling a caravan weighing 1.4 tonne and what the fuel economy would be.

find out what the straight petrol heads are using in fuel and add 20%.
you burn more gas than petrol. It used to roughly work out to save me 30% of my fuel cost on gas but price has changed since then.

Average for petrol GQ's seems to be around 5.5km/lt ( 18.18lt/100 ) on petrol and 3.5km/lt ( 28.57lt/100 ) on gas, these figures are whilst NOT towing. I think the petrol figure goes down to somewhere around 4 km/lt ( 25lt/100 ) towing, not sure about gas, but you should be able to work out an average from here.

figures should be pretty close
my old work van ( L 300 ) was on gas and had it retuned on dyno
figures came out 2hp different between gas and petrol
just get it tuned by someone who knows what they are doing
