I'll raise that to 24l if your towing a van up a long steep
hill.
For Bonz's benefit, if he were doing that in a Nissan, he'd use 36l/100k providing he didn't blow the motor on the way up.

Any better than 20L / 100km I reckon would be a bonus for you.
I have a 80# 4.5 auto and get between 18 - 22 l / 100km
Regards
Neil.

My 2cents worth.
My 80 1hz, turbo intercooled running 18psi, the worst I have done city driving is 15l/100 normally around the 13l/100. Towing a C/T from
Brisbane to
Broome across the simpson I averaged 16L/100.

Hi,
well I have had my V8 Cruiser for about 10 months now, is a 2003 auto, I have checked the fuel figures a few times and mostly filled up from the same service station, this is for non towing, some off road work but not serious stuff, this was done for my benefit not to impress anyone so these are as true as I can get them,
worst figure was 15/100, best 11.98/100, average out at 13.79/100. I dont think this is bad for this size of vehicle but do understand it would use a fair bit more when we tow a caravan, but then again the V8 is about $11.000 cheaper to buy and service is 10.000 klm instead of 5.000 klm for the diesel.
hope this helps. Pete

I have just put the ecomony fig for a v8 in another post. But my mates cruiser returns similar figs to Petes above and I work for him every now and again so I spend a bit of time in it
Cheers Pete

I seriosly doubt the disals have a shorter service interval than the petrol certainly the utes and troopys have the same intervals petrol and diesal

Guys, note that Merylin is concerned that she/he didn't get much of an answer.
I just quote her/him on the original question;
"What should I get out of a 100series Auto V8 Petrol Landcruser"
A question that does not actually ask anything doesn't elicit an answer. There is a bit too little in your question Merylin. Please ask a more involved one next time, perhaps talking about the road conditions and the traffic conditions, whether you tow or not. My small car varies from under 7/l per 100 to over 10/l per 100 depending on road and traffic. It is also helpful to identify your question with the question mark = ? Not that I want to lecture on grammar as I would fail that myself.

Thirsty buggers, aren't they???
I know that there is no comparison between a Discovery TD5 Auto and any Toyota or Ni$$an, but fuel economy of around 10L/100km solo and 14L/100km towing my 16ft poptop takes some beating
Wish the others could get somewhere near that, then I j u s t might consider them when changeover time comes.
Cheers
Disco

500000K at least as long as service properly, probably 1000,000 if it was used for a taxi, a few less if used round town!
