Hi.
Has anyone been to either the Lyne River or Berkeley River out of Wyndham and can help regarding the fishing and anything else I should be aware of.

Gday Phil

Unfortunately I haven't been to the Berkeley as yet, but I have had some success at the Lyne, a couple of barra, a Queenie, and a Mangrove Jack. Its a fair hoik to the berkley (160km), a few friends have done it, and we were tossing up going there once the cyclones go away but while the waterfalls are still going for it.

You can have good fishing in most little area's of the Gulf, there are countless inlets and creeks, some have been a waste of time, some have been great.

Around the coast you can also pick up reef fish here and there. You could spend months exploreing and fishing to find your own hot spots....so far I only really have a couple of warm ones!

What size boat do you have? It can cut up a bit rough, especially just out from Pt nicholas. The biggest hazards are the tides, which can make the fishing dififcult, your fuel consumption go through the roof if you don't use them to your advantage, and can also see you stranded for 8 hours or so if you get stuck on the wrong side of a rock or sand bar.

You will need plenty of fuel capacity with the distances you will need to travel, a four stroke outboard is an asset here.

When are you Planning to visit?

Cheers andrew
