I am slowly convincing SWMBO that we need to upgrade the Triton sooner rather than later but I have yet to decide which direction to take.
I have now reasearched the Troopy as per previous post and I have now moved onto the 100S Cruiser and GU Nissan.

Therefore I require some info on the seating arrangements for the 2nd row of seats.
ie.
1. Can 2 baby seats plus a booster seat fit adequately?
2. Is there three child restraint points as standard?

For those who have converted the Wagons to dual cabs what is the tray length without a chassis extension?

And finally

How hard would it be to convert the trailer from a 6 stud to a 5 stud configuration or am I better off carrying mismatching wheels?

Cheers Kev

Kev, AFIK there is not provision for 3 child restraints in the 2nd row.
I would think it would be an idea to check with the authourites on this for your childrens sake.
I think the problem would be because of the split seat.
Where would you anchor the 3rd restraint?

I refer to the 2nd row of seats as to the ones directly behind the drivers seat. I thought that it was a 60/40 split? I am prepared to be corrected.
The third restraint would end up being installed by an authorised installer if required. The Web sites for Nissan and Toyota do not indicate any number of restraint points except that they are standard.

Thanks Nick,
I'm actually looking at an RV 100S, Oct 00 build in Hobart ATM, 4.2l non Turbo with 120K on the clock. But with some mods already done ie suspension, bull bar, dual battery, Cargo barrier etc.

not sure with the RV spec, but the std (DX) wagon rear seat is a single bench not a split. I noticed Nick has a GXL(split rear) so the RV maybe either.

Thanks for that.
It looks like I'll have to install a third restraint point.

Any one have any ideas as to a tray length in a converted wagon??

Hi kev,
Just had a look at my patrol, has the two standard mounts on the left and right, none in the middle so yes you are right a legal installed one would be no probs. As for space for the 3 seats I guess that comes down to the size of the bubs seats, I just did a quick measure with my daughters booster seat and yes 3 would fit but buckling up the middle one would be a PITA to do. Hope this helps. But bear in mind mine is a 1999 model patrol so the arrangments could have changed since then.

Cheers Stefan

It sounds like a similar problem as the Triton. I cant get the centre seat belt done up with all 3 seats in which is half the reason for the upgrade.

I "think" Al & Mrs Al do the DCab converstions but couldn't find anything on their rig profile. Wait?

YEP, did an archive search, It's Al', he'll know the length of tray I'd say
Sorry can't help with other info.
