Jimbo
We have spent the last ten days in the Tarra Valley, just out of
Yarram.
The Tarra Valley is a Rain
Forrest tucked in amongst some very barren territory. Beatiful greenery, a lovely river alive with fresh water Crayfish and a Van park that is more like
bush camping with facilities.
The Tarra Valley C/P, known as Fernholme, is small and delightful. They offer fire drums so that you can have a campfire and hounds are welcome, on a lead. Set among trees and bounded by the river on one side, it is a lovely park.
It also has a couple of BBQ sheds with fire
places.
The owners, David and Margaret are wonderful hosts.

Also try the caravan park at Rawson. Bush setting, new on site pub, fires allowed and, ensuite dunny and shower for the lady and kids. Dogs allowed.
Regards
Kim

Hi Jimbo - nice to read reports of good parks. Do you want to put a report on "Badger's"?
This is a voluntarily run site, and is the best reference for first hand knowledge of CPs around Oz. There is only one report, dated 2004, for this park - it also is a good report.

I always put a report of the CPs we visit on Badger's excellent website.

What an excellent site. Never heard of it. Great to read the reports that our local van park (
Perth International) gets.

Hi Dunc - Badger does a great job although it can take a couple of months or so from receiving the reports to get the up on site as he does it in his spare time. It is only as good as the contributors, so it is up to everyone to contribute. We don't go to CPs very much, but it is a good reference when researching where to go, and
well worth contributing to and keeping it up to date. Older reports are dropped, so even if a similar report is already there, it is worth updating. He has chided me on making it hard for him by not using the proper names of some parks, so i will endeavour to get brochures in the future to make it easier.
Nice to know
Perth has some good parks. My daughter who has little ones stays at Karrinyup Waters Resort when holidaying in
Perth and found that a lovely environment with very good facilities for
young families.
