Info req'd on the Nissan Terrano - I was under the impression they were only avail. with a 2.7D (not the grey import). A friend is looking a non-grey import with a 2.4 petrol (old Pintara motor??). Any info on this vehicle with the petrol engine would be appreciated - don't worry about the diesel as I have already seen heaps on that. rgds

I had one and it was terrible. Was great on bitumen and drove fantastically and I was so sucked in by the salesman.

Off road it had zero guts and I continually got bogged in medium sand despite lowering pressures etc.

The 2.7L TD diesel at the time actually had more power as well as obviously more torque which was considered quite bizarre at the time. I bought the petrol cause i didn't understand torque at the time and thought I'd save on petrol costs.

Mind you I never had any problems with it, just that the engine is way too small when it was packed with gear and mates to do anything, struggled even going up hills.

I hated it because off road it felt like a toy even with the foot down. i sold it 6 months later. The resale value, by the way, is terrible.

Now if I'd gotten the diesel, I'd probably still have it ... but you know they're getting pretty rare these days.
