Further to my post No.39625 on 20/11/006, yesterday (09/11/2006) Hamish from Geoscience Australia finally put the patch up on their website that solves the conflict between Natmap Raster 2003 and the new Microsoft Windows Explorer 7.
This file is only available through the internet. It is a zip file and the instructions are fairly complex, so I won't detail them here. The reference is :-
www.ga.gov.au/nmd/products/maps/raster250k/help/helptrouble.jsp#ie7
or start further up the Geoscience Australia website www.ga.gov.au and drill your way down.
Enjoy!

Sorry, I mucked up the dates. Original Post was 20/11/2006 and the solution arrived 09/01/2007 (fat finger problem).

Update 11/01/2007......The zipped self-extracting .exe file (patch) does not seem to want to self extract. Gets the message "Only part of a ReadProcessMemory or WriteProcessMemory request was completed".
I have advised the Government Department author of the patch and will advise further in due course (if I get a reply from him).

Latest (final) update. hamish phoned me & said the problem was with their server. That sometimes the download works & then it gets corrupted later in the day. At his request I re-downloaded the file immediately, ran (self-extracted) it & then ran my Natmap Raster 2003 programme. Ran just great. Back in business.
Hamish said they are trying to fix the server problem permanently, but at the moment it is just pot luck. He suggested that earlier in the day may be best.
He also said no other fixes would be made to the 2003 version of the programme, ever.
