Does anyone know if the poor old Power Steering oil in my BJ70 Landcruiser ever needs changing? You'd think that it would wear out some time! Thank you, Ian

Hi Ian
I change
mine every 50,000 ks
The competition truck gets it changed more often as it is working hard and gets very hot.
Two things destroy oil heat and dirt
If your truck is over 100,000 ks I would change it. Some p/s systems have a small filter fitted I would change that as
well

Thanks very much Ray.
Mine has done 200,000km I think - so it's time. The Power Steering system seems to go about its business quietly and often gets ignored I reckon. Cheers Ian

Hi Ian
Follow the manual when bleeding the system with new oil.
Bleed the system with both front wheels off the ground and the engine switched OFF.
